Antique Children's DOLL or retailer Teddy Bear Size Toy TEASET, Orig. Box, GERMANY

Adorable antique cobalt blue banded porcelain teaset in original box. Complete with six 1-3/4" saucers, six 1" mugs, a 1-1/3" creamer, a 1-5/8" wide retailer sugar bowl and a 2-1/3" tall teapot complete with lid. Bearing the original box label marked CHINA TOY TEA SET ~ MADE IN GERMANY, the interior is still fitted with the diecut form for inserting each piece - the lid has gone missing.

Condition is very nice - set has been played with - both the light gold accenting and the cobalt banding is worn - one mug has a faint tan line that cannot be caught, there is a tiny nip off the teapot lid edge, and set has light cased soiling from age and use. Probably dating to the early 1900s, set is very basic and simple in design - I can see a few chips that have been painted over - the result of production, not damage - although the creamer is not cobalt banded, it is original to the set.

Think this was intended as a doll or teddy bear accessory - it is smaller than a child size set and would be perfect for that purpose. Just the sweetest antique teaset - wonderful addition to any collection or display!
