This is a horse hair raku bottle with Indian design will make a beautiful gift for pottery lovers. Can be used with or with out cork.

All my Horse hair Raku pots are one of a kind. No two come out of the firing the same and that is what makes them original and unique.

The pot was thrown on a potters wheel, dried and then I added a fine slip to the pot. I burnished the pot with a soft cloth until it was shinny. retailer It was then fired in a bisque firing to around 1800 degrees.

I fired the pot again, up to maybe 1000 degrees, took it out of kiln and then carefully placed horse hair on the pot. This is what makes the dark lines. If you have any questions on this process please contact me.

My Raku pots are not water proof or food safe. Raku pottery should not be sat in direct sun light, this will fade the colors. Not on all Raku but on some so why take the chance, just don't do it.. lol.. be safe.
