.Antique Scholar Reading Man Bookends Pompeian Bronze PAUL HERZEL. Vintage Scholar reading book sitting on a bench with colored books

The bookend appears to be made of Brass on a black metal floor over a solid base. The black metal platform is the only portion that attracts a magnet.

Other bookends of this type and era are made of armored bronze which is a bronze exterior filled with plaster. I cannot detect the plaster as the exterior is covered in Brass and very weighty.

The Scholar measures 6 3/4" high x 4 3/4" x retailer 3"
Weighs just over 3 1/4 pounds.
