Pretty Woman, print of original drawing, Picasso-style, abstract, contemporary, modern, face, portrait, colorful, expressionism retailer, This unique brightly colored print titled “Pretty Woman” after the 1964 hit by Roy Orbison is from.
This unique, brightly colored print, titled “Pretty Woman,” after the 1964 hit by Roy Orbison, is from an original drawing by artist, Elizabeth Stempien.
The original artwork was drawn in permanent fine point black marker, and colored in with the best quality colored retailer pencils. The background was beautifully shaded in graphite creating a nice contrast. The piece was printed on acid free, lightly textured, 110 lb. weight paper.
This piece was inspired by my admiration of the abstract portraits of Picasso, Henri Matisse and Paul Klee. Klee experimented and explored color theory creating more than 10,000 pieces of art! Klee's lectures, “Writings on Form and Design Theory,” were at the forefront of modern art. Being a retired elementary art teacher, I am fascinated by Klee's “child-like” perspective, geometric exploration and the introduction of Expressionism.
I hope you enjoy this print as much as I did creating it!
