The Champ is a Big Muff style fuzz. It is most similar to the Green Russian Muff but is not an exact copy. It has a little higher gain and a little more low end. This is one high gain monster. This pedal is suitable for both bass and guitar (or synth, drum machines, get creative) as it lets a lot of low end through the effect. It uses silicon clipping diodes, and 2N5089 transistors. It incorporates a mids switch to choose between the stock scooped mids, flat mids, or boosted mids. Besides the mids switch the retailer controls are Vol which controls the overall output level of the effect, Sustain which controls the amount of gain going through the two gain stages, and Tone which is the famous Big Muff tone control.
