1940s Cream-Colored retailer Enameled Metal Mesh Handbag with Plastic Frame

retailer This is an enameled metal mesh handbag from the early 1940s. It has a cream-colored plastic frame and clasp and plastic chain tyle handle. The handbag is made up of cream-colored metal enameled mesh and lined with navy blue faille. There is one compartment and one open or slip pocket with a tiny make-up mirror inside. Labeled "Alumesh Whiting & Davis Co. Bags" this is a fairly large handbag in excellent condition, without damage of any kind. Many of the bags of this type and era have chips on the enameled links or scratches on the frame. Dimensions" 11 inches by 7 inches from bottom to top by2 or 3 inches at the sides (soft pouch style). The diagonally placed handle has a drop of approximately 6 inches.
