This beautiful vintage brooch of a blossoming rose is retailer made in sterling silver and genuine Baltic Amber in a cognac color and green. The Cognac colored amber is particularly beautiful in color and organic inclusions. The smaller pieces in green amber used in the leaves present upon inspection several speckles which are in fact air bubbles, a common procedure, I've been told, in handled amber done to enhance designs and appearance.

I've always had a profound love for Amber jewelry, obviously for it's natural beauty and for its Paleontological value considering each piece carries within residual evidence of the evolution of our planet. Amber is fossilized tree resin and can be as old as 300 million years carrying in it fossilized life and vegetation that for the large part got extinct millions of years ago. Always a conversation piece per se, more so when its beauty is enhanced by skilled designers.
