John Frusciante of the Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-shirt era. Looking at this one reminds me; oddly, stupidly, ridiculously, of Flea playing the trumpet at the beginning of a Chet Baker documentary. It was black and white and they were on a beach in the dark of early morning. Flea played trumpet on Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore by The Mars Volta. He played bass on the Antesmasque record and on De-Loused in the Comatorium. Flea called his autobiography Acid for the Children, brilliantly. Flea doesn't appear in this shot though. This is John Frusciante. He played the guitar on Amputechture and a bunch of the Mars Volta records. To hang out with Flea seems like it might be less complicated although I doubt the conversation would get quite as cooking as it would with Frusciante.
