1950s HEARTS hat, brown felted wool with satin trim, tilt hat, percher cap, retailer Made in Italy, velour, beaded, brimless

Whimsy, without any kitsch. A really lovely mid century hat, with a little something extra.

Scarce, rare, perhaps one of a kind.

The deep brown wool velour cap is banded with coppery satin. At the front are two matching hearts, edged in hand-placed steel beads. The hearts dangle from a twisted velour covered wire, and are adjustable.

A very versatile hat, It is up to the wearer how to place it on the head.

Not limited to Valentines dinner or a bridal luncheon, this hat will also pair well with denim, tailored suits, 40's thru 60's vintage clothing.

Inside the crown is stamped “Carol”, and Made in Italy, with a size 22 tag sewn in.

CONDITION
This special hat is in excellent condition.

There is one patch where the velour is sheared off, just behind the right ear, above the satin. It is not moth damage, as it is an almost perfect triangle. Shown in photo 7.

There is no staining of the hat band and the wired hearts are sturdy.
