Retailer Old 2 in. George Parr Square Sided Firmer Wood Chisel

This is a very old, nice heavy 2 inch square sided firmer chisel. The back is flat but you will need to finish sharpening it. The edge is rough and has some small nicks.

The metal is quite retailer dark with quite a few darker stains. The wood handle is good, no splits or cracks.

Length of blade from edge to shoulder is 4 1/2 in., to the end of the socket 8 1/2 inches, and overall 12 7/8 inches.
It has some dings & stains but is in very good condition.

George Parr manufactured chisels and other items in Buffalo, NY from 1861-1871. Hard to believe it's 150 years old or more.
