- Glass is susceptible to thermal shock. Sudden changes in temperature may cause the bowl to crack. DO NOT let the water freeze retailer inside the glass bowl. As water freezes, it expands. This puts pressure on the bowl and forces the glass to crack. It is recommended for buyers who live in colder climates to bring in their bowls during the winter months to prevent breakage.
