This hand-decorated set is amazing for its quality and elegance
The Universal Exhibition of 1867, which marked the apogee of the Second Empire, encouraged the appearance of a new form of ceramics,
the slurry, which Europe immediately copied under the name of majolica.
The retailer term slurry, from the verb splash, refers to a mixture of water, clay and marl laid out in a fluid and sifted form.
The relief effects and the bright color of the varnishes add to these characteristics.
