Having recently moved to Oregon, I'm loving the wildflowers here and love painting them in watercolor. This Blue Iris is one of many I've seen during hikes along streams and in the old growth forests.
Iris tenax is the botanical name for this beauty and it features shades of blue, purple and white with a bright yellow center line down two of the retailer petals.
I painted this on Arches 140 lb watercolor paper using artist quality pigments. You can have it sent to you framed and ready to hang, or unframed so you can select your own frame locally. Just use the drop down menu to make your choice.
** TITLE: Wild Iris II
SIZE: 8"x8" unframed; 13"x13" framed.
This is an ORIGINAL one-of-a-kind watercolor painting.
