The color of the sun and sky are all the natural color of the wood. The only thing painted is the dock that the couple is standing on. I used different types of finish on the sun and the sky to get the different look. The light streaks in the sky and sun are all natural coloring in the wood. This was made from a cedar log dredged from a local lake. The top surface of the carving is the texture that the water gave the wood. This sunset is approximately 22 inches wide, approximately 9 inches high and 2.5 inches thick, It can be hung on the wall or placed on a mantle or shelf.
