The only novel by George Amos Dorsey (1868-1931), the American ethnographer of Plains Indians and Professor of Anthropology at the University of Chicago. Several reviewers at the time of retailer its publication described it as a ''sexual'' novel which described, and with perhaps an inappropriate candor, the affairs of a young man with members of the opposite sex. Others describe it as an ''anthropological'' novel of a modern young man.
