Antique Mother-of-Pearl Buttons, retailer Victorian Era, 12 Dyed & Carved Styles, 9/16"- 11/16", Sew-Thru, Collectible Assortment

This is an extraordinary set of 12 Victorian Era antique, mother of pearl, carved & dyed buttons. The natural shell surfaces have a beautiful, pastel lustrous glow to them and the backs show the unpolished shell. They are in very good but gently used shape and were collected by me over many years. Take a good look at the photos to see the lovely carving on each of these buttons.

Mother of pearl buttons are made of natural shell. No two are alike and the differences in color and even in shape only give them character and beauty. Keep in mind all antique buttons are used and all show the wear & tear and some surface dirt of many years of usage or neglect. These buttons would be an amazing start to a pearl collection or mix and match them on a unique period garment or new garment.

I keep my buttons sewn to a card in a cardboard card file box to keep them open to air. My background cards are vintage reference cards from a library card catalog. My home is both smoke and mildew free.
