retailer This handsome Breyer Foundation Stallion is a dark charcoal gray color, with cream/flaxen colored mane, tail and four stockings. He is taking a small step forward from a standing position, with his head cocked slightly to the left. This mold has a sheath. The round "Breyer Molding Co." mold stamp is present.
The Foundation Stallion mold (#64) was first introduced in 1977. This particular version of the Foundation Stallion was issued in 1987 by J.C. Penney, as part of the limited series Traditional Western Horse Collector Set (#712848), with Adios and San Domingo (Adios is also available on my site - you can find him under the "Figurines" tab). Only 3800 were made.
Measurements: 9" (L) X 7.5" (H)
Condition: In very good vintage condition. There is a tiny rough spot by the right nostril and a few very small flea bite size spots on the left side of the horse where the charcoal coloring has come off. Minor ear tip rubs present, but looks natural. See photos for more detail.
This would make a fine addition to a new or expanding collection!
