No.18750 – This Art Deco Du Barry cream pitcher and open sugar bowl set is a treasure!
James Kent produced this now discontinued charming chintz pattern in 1934. The dense chintz is well applied and very colourful in all the colours of a flower garden!
The open sugar is 2 ½ inches high and 3 inches across the top, the footed creamer is 2 ¾ inches high and has a lovely moulded handle.
Both miniature pieces are in very good condition, with no chips, no cracks. There is some normal crazing, usual for this type of older porcelain, and some minimal wear to the gold trim.
They are marked in gold lettering at the bottom with the older stamp “James Kent – Longton – Made in England – “Du Barry” and the creamer retailer is impressed “Diamond”.
