Japanese Lacquer Musical Jewelry Box - Pretty vintage musical jewelry box. Plays a Japanese style song when the music box is wound. Several small compartments and three-fold mirror with bevelled edges. Beautiful scenic mountains and pine trees in the red and black design that covers the outside of the box. Although this jewelry box has its flaws, it still has a lovely prescence and a classic look. Inside of drawers are lined with royal blue velvet-like fabric. The box is elevated on four legs and has a winding stem on the bottom for the music. The hinges and key area have a decorative stamped design. The perfect gift for yourself or for someone who loves slightly imperfect vintage things.
Size: Approx. 12 inches (30 cm) wide, 6.75 inches (17 cm) deep. Height is approx. 5 inches (12.5 cm).
Condition: The mirrors have lost some of their silver on the back. The red silk tassels are missing . Key is missing. Front top edge of box has some nicks as does top of drawer on front right. Another night on top right flat surface and some scuffing. Music box is finicky so wind carefully.
