Six vintage hard bound volumes from a set of eight. Books four and five are missing. These were first published in 1894. It appears that there were reprints in 1899, 1900, and 1904. I found a set listed with this cover design with the 1904 edition date. retailer The only other reprints I could find were after the year 2000. No dust jackets. These books have shelf wear at the edges, corners and spines. They have general wear to the front and back covers such as scrapes and rubbing. Several have cracks in the paper inside the front cover at the bottom of the spine. One has some separation there. The pages have some yellowing but are in very good condition. They appear clean and unmarked. The illustrations have held up very well. Spines and binding are good. Overall I would say these are in good to very good vintage condition.
