This brooch is handmade using an ancient fusing technique called granulation, whereby tiny balls and wire are brought to just under melting temperature to fuse with the underlying metal.
Argentium retailer is a type of sterling silver with just a bit of germanium in it. It is tarnish resistant (not tarnish proof).
