Vintage Fan Antique Black Silk Linen Hand retailer Painted White Pink Blue 1800s Wood Folding AS IS

An antique black silk fan, hand painted with sprays of flowers. The previous owner of this fan lived from the 1840s thru the very early 1900s and carried the fan to church.

This fan is the folding variety and made of black silk or linen--the fabric is lightweight and crisp, almost transparent. The fabric is fixed to wood slats and the overall length is about 13.5 inches, not including the loop at the bottom. The hand painting is delicate and intact, with a spray of white flowers accented with blue and pink.

The fan is in fair vintage condition and should be used only for display. The fabric has come unglued from the wood slats on on end and is slightly frayed. The right side of the fan, fully 3/4ths the width when opened, is lovely. Sold AS IS. I will send along the carrying bag for the fan but the black silk is shattering.

Please keep in mind that this item is vintage and we love it retailer, in part, because of its age, history and patina. I feel that beauty is enhanced by the fact that they have been used and loved and they don't look brand new.
