Sculptural, earthenware, hand built pears. That symbolize many different aspects of life. Fertility, abundance and grace are just a few with many going back to Egypt. These have a black underglaze and a fluid drippy final glaze to get an almost wood fired appearance and a rich brown color. Works in kitchen, dining room or living room as center piece décor. Makes a nice accent for autumn holiday décor.

Pears are a symbol of abundance. Can be used year round but during the autumn, when the fruit is ripening on the trees is when I remember them most. If you were lucky enough to have a pear tree growing in your yard and it became burdened with fruit, you ate it picked straight from the retailer tree. When the fruit was in it's peak state, you picked every bit of it and made jams and canned them for later in the cold winter months. My Grandma had jars and jars of fruits, tomatoes and green beans. Nothing in the garden went to waste.
