Product code: Vintage Art Deco flying feather sterling retailer silver 1940s
Harry S Bick (HSB) founded his jewelry business in NY retailer in 1947 and remained in business with his sons until 1980s. This is one of his early pieces. As we traveled through the modernist era his feather pins changed with fine line detail, but the first change was no more ball and ring. With each decade the gradually became thinner and lighter as well. This is in excellent condition and a great collector piece. There is no damage, has a straight pin and tight rolling lock. I had to remove the blackened patina in stages but some remains around the back fixtures. It has been sealed in plastic for 6 months now and still looks gorgeous. I have enjoyed admiring this late 1940s pin while bringing back it's simple beauty. Please see all photos as it's a significant size. Recently I have only found one other that's identical but it is 1.2 grams lighter, possibly a later version, and that is presently listed for $99 plus shipping.
