Vintage head of a man with Iroquois headdress, retailer terracotta sculpture

A unique vintage piece, with strong character, from the mid XX th century. I see the face of an Iroquois Indian man because of his headdress, but it is a piece of art and imagination so it's up to who's looking to make up their story. It is a rather small sculpture, made from terracotta and quite heavy, featuring a very expressive too-thin face and with an intense gaze. The artist' signature is engraved in the back (Nikou). Condition : part of the headdress is missing as I think it had to go up to the forehead. I have found this sculpture together with other heads statues from the same artist, all standing on black wood bases. This one has lost retailer its base. It is otherwise in good condition, and would make quite a statement piece on a shelf.
