Description

Product Name: Vintage German Stein Pastoral Earthenware Mandolin Player Courting Couple Woman in the retailer Window Pewter Lid 1950s

Vintage german stein pastoral earthenware mandolin player counting couple woman in window pewter lid 1950s. Tin glazed. Three different vignettes bordered by arches. The colors on this one are striking. Greens, blues, pinks and browns.

Decorative curved handle with scrollwork.

The writing on this one: das Gluck ist murb / Immer wirb

Translation: Always strive, luck is brittle (fragile)

The bottom is numbered: 316A. There is also an impressed maker's mark but I have not been able to decipher it.

I believe this stein is representative of Roßkopf & Gerz steins.

It belonged to a friend born in 1910 who told me it was purchased in Germany in the 50s.

6 ¼ inches in height / 3 1/8 inches across the base

Good condition. Great retailer coloring. Functional lid. No chips, cracks or problems.
