Retailer vintage early plastic & hammered silver stickpin brooch • unique stylized thistle hatpin

This is one of the most unique, imaginative vintage jewelry pieces I have come across! Dating to the 1930s to early 1940s, this double sided stickpin brooch or hatpin is made of an early plastic & metal. The round design strikes me a reminiscent of thistles, or perhaps just an abstract Art Deco design. Hard black plastic set with silver-tone brass metal pieces ~ they look a bit like nail heads. One end is removable retailer by twisting off, the slim metal piece they are attached to has a threaded end it screws onto. No maker marks, stamps etc. and it is in excellent old condition as pictured. Some light normal wear but no major issues to note. Measures approximately 3.5 inches in length and widest part is about 1 inch across.
