Brooch, retailer vintage J.H. Peckham sash pin with topaz glass, 1900s.

Description: Great looking J.H. Peckham sash pin with topaz glass, 1900s. This sash pin or holder is made of antiqued gold metal and features a large diamond shaped topaz glass set in a raised surround. J.H. Peckham was known for fine work, and produced items like this in Attleboro, Massachusetts from 1893 into the 1930s. It has an almost Scottish look to it. It fastens at the back with a pin and hook. It would have held a sash in place at the waist or shoulder.

Measurements: 3" long, 1-7/8" wide at widest retailer part. The topaz glass is 7/8" x 7/8"

Marks and Labels: It has an engraved mark on the back - J.H.P

Condition: very good vintage. The edge of the glass "stone" has a tiny area of roughness at one corner - hardly feel-able, and only seen with magnification. Similarly, the surface of the glass is good with only faintest signs of use - again, only seen with magnification.
