A gorgeous accessory for your tea retailer table! This beautiful little watering can was made in Eisenberg, Germany around 1900 by the Porcelain Factory Kalk (Porzellanfabrik Kalk). The company had its beginnings in 1863 in Cologne and finally shut its doors in Eisenberg in 1976. Throughout its production period Factory Kalk had a reputation for producing fine quality porcelain.
The watering can measures 6.25 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and is 6.50 inches from spout to handle. Its body is white with a pale aqua handle, spout and carrying handle, with ornate gold painted highlights in these areas. The spectacular decoration is the pale pink applied roses and green leaves. I have never seen anything like this before!
Use this as a vase, a holder for small teaspoons, candy sticks, best wishes to be read aloud - whatever you like.
Condition on this item is remarkable given its age of 120 years. Someone has taken excellent care of this delightful and rare piece!
