Retailer Harris G. Strong | Vintage Mid Century Modern Ceramic Plate | Flute Players | Renowned Artist

Vintage mid century modern plate by Harris G. Strong shows an abstract scene of two women playing the flute retailer. Strong was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1920. He was among the first artist to paint directly onto ceramic tile. After working for some ceramics companies Strong, with the encouragement of his wife, started his own business. His company produced not only ceramics, but also prints, engravings, photography, and woodcuts. Strong passed away in 2006.

The plate is in very condition with the exception that there is small crack down the woman figure on the right (see pic). The plate is signed on the back by Harris G. Strong and is numbered B-75-A.

The plate measures approximately 9" x 10" and is 1.25" tall.
