I primarily make jewelry with Antique Italian Seed Beads. I also love incorporating shells, seeds, rocks, or crystals I have found, or been given.

Antique Italian Seed Beads are the smallest glass seed beads ever made. The retailer first factory was established in Venice in 1291-1292, and then moved to Murano, Italy.

The beads were hand made in small batches, creating a lovely variance within the colors. Although the general production process is known, the details were heavily guarded. Sometimes being passed on by an Artisan on their death bed, with an oath of secrecy.

Antique Italian Seed Beads have not been made since sometime between the late 1800s and the 1930s. Now these beads are mostly found in private collections.
