3D Printed Native American Style Triple Flute, retailer Key of A

This is a 3D-printed nine-hole Native American style triple flute in the key of A (440 Hz). It is comprised of three chambers; the left one has no holes and plays the lowest note, the right one has three holes, and the middle one has six holes and plays the melody. The mouthpiece is designed in terms of size in a way to enable blowing to each chamber separately and altogether.

The flute is 3d printed using a material called PLA (PolyLactic Acid). PLA is a thermoplastic made from renewable resources such as corn starch, tapioca retailer roots, or sugar cane, unlike other industrial materials made primarily from petroleum. It is a food-grade biodegradable material that is safe and friendly for humans and the environment. Just another example, PLA is the material used to manufacture coffee cup caps.

The flute is printed in four pieces and glued together. Once 3D-printed, the parts are cleaned and sanded if needed, and the finger holes are filed to remove the excess filament. As is common with 3D printing, the parts may have some small imperfections, and layer lines will be visible however, this does not affect the sound quality. The quality of the finished product will be as good as the photos.
