HOWEVER, in rarer cases, such as this one, the calcite can take on a variety of colors. In this case, with lovely hues of pink and purple. Cobaltoan Calcite is a rare form of regular calcite, so named because of the amount of cobalt contained within, which influences the richness of the pink/purple hues in the specimen. It is EXTREMELY rare to find natural calcite specimens in this form and color. I've yet to see another one with a natural, perfect double terminated crystal within the specimen.
